Q. Is the HOG Fly and Ride the same as a rental?

A. No it is not. HOG Fly and Ride™s needs to be reserved through 1-800-CLUB-HOG

 

Q. Should I reserve in advance or can I walk in for a rental?

A. We recommend advance reservation to ensure we have the bike of your choice. 

 

Q. What is the Helmet Law in California?

A. There is a State Mandated Helmet Law, therefore, any driver or passenger must wear a DOT approved helmet while on our rental motorcycles.  

 

Q. Can I rent a motorcycle on a permit?

A. No, All renters and additional drivers of the motorcycle are required to have the proper motorcycle endorsement from their State or Country of residence.

 

Q. What does a rental day consist of?

A. A rental day is 24 hours from the point of pick up.

 

Q. Do you offer after hours motorcycle returns?

A. No, we do not. All rentals must be returned during our business hours.

 

Q. Does my motorcycle, auto or credit card insurance cover me on a rental motorcycle?

A. Do not make this assumption, in most cases they do not. We recommend that you check with your insurance/credit card company prior to arrival for your rental.

 

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. We require a 24 hour cancellation notice or there is a $50 charge. The only exception would be due to poor weather, in which a courtesy call is greatly appreciated. 

 

Q. Is a security deposit required?

A. Yes, if a full insurance package is not included with the rental, we will authorize your credit card for the security deposit of $2,000.  If a full insurance package is included with the rental then we will authorize your credit card for the security deposit of $500.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or Discover. We strongly discourage the use of Visa Debit cards as this will affect your balance in your checking account temporarily. Security deposits may take 7-30 days to release depending on your cardholder agreement.

 

Q. What is included in the Full Insurance Package?

A. Full Insurance and Protection Package includes supplemental liability, personal injury/property, and our loss and damage waiver for $27.95 each 24 hour period or part thereof.

 

Q. Am I allowed to have passengers on the rental.

A. Yes, they need to be present at the point of rental to sign appropriate paperwork and be issued a helmet.

 

Q. Am I allowed to let someone ride the motorcycle?

A. Yes, they must be present at the time of rental to be added onto the contract. Additional driver must meet all rental requirements. UNAUTHORIZED DRIVERS WILL RESULT IN THE CONTRACT AND INSURANCE/DAMAGE WAIVER BEING VOIDED.

 

Q. Can I rent a Tri-Glide?

A. Yes, we have a Tri-Glide in our rental fleet.  Driver is required to have a valid motorcycle license and will be asked to view a Tri-Glide Safety and Operation Video at the rental location prior to rental.

 

Q. How far are you away from the San Diego Airport?

A. Our Little Italy location is conveniently located Downtown just minutes from the San Diego Airport. 

 

Q. Can I leave my car parked at your dealership while I am on the rental motorcycle?

A. Yes you can, however San Diego Harley-Davidson assumes no responsibility for vehicles left overnight.
